Regarding to the government strategy in community development for poverty reduction, CDEA had set up 3 criterias for community selection: - Poor community,
- located in the remote area
- Ethnic group: minority

According this criterias some project communities were selected:
Oudomxay is the official project community. The REEPRO team works predominant in Houn and Xay districts.
The Level 2 training in Xay district and Level 3 training on Biomass and PV in Khong Muang, Phouxe zone were performed. Participants from Phouxe took part of Level 2 training. The Khong Muang villagers wished the installing of a PV system for health post centre and the meeting room for the Phouxe zone. Furthermore they asked for assistance in establishment of rocket stove production.
In Xiengkhouang province STRI held Level 2 improved cook stove training from April 20th to 30th. The training would organised in Paek district. Currently STRI and CDEA will evaluate the possibility to prepare a MOU with a local partner.
One PV training is planned in Mahasay district, where SHS systems are already installed in the frame of the off-grid programme. The objective is to encourage existing systems, demonstrate installation, operation and maintenance for this district and the surrounding districts. MOU will be made with ESCO.
Two courses on PV and Biomass (Rocket Stove) were held in Saravanh province. It is the central province of the southern region, there are some former NUOL students. MOU should be signed with the Department of Energy and Mines of the province.
We already have a MOU with the Vocational Training centre. Here we install a complete demonstration centre including Solar dryer, PV, glazed and unglazed solar thermal water heater, rocket stoves, gasifier stoves, small gasifier for power production. All for the different trainings.
