We already have a MOU with the Vocational Training centre. Here we install a complete demonstration centre including Solar dryer, PV, glazed and unglazed solar thermal water heater, rocket stoves, gasifier stoves, small gasifier for power production. All for the different trainings.

A few of the main features of the system had to be robustness and simplification. It should be use- and operable by anyone after a short training or introduction session. It should be suitable to gasify solid fuel (wood) stock chopped into small pieces of not larger than 5 cm side lengths, pre-dried with a lower water content of approximately 35%. The targeted power output should be less than 5 kW and the duty cycle of operation between refuelling and maintenance shut downs should be greater than 8 hours.
Main characteristic was the utilization of simplest and locally available materials and resources such as clay, mud, wood, glue, plastic foil or paper as well as simple metal components such as 200 litre oil drums, 30 litre oil drums or low grade steel rods.
The aim was to use most of the materials for building the basic structure into a clay coating respectively mud grouting. It would be expected that once fired up and operating the heat would decompose most of the used material within short time that what is left is most of the entire functional gasifier made from clay and mud.
| 30l drum | 200l drum | Inner diameter | 270 mm | 571,5 mm | Outer diameter | 280 mm | 585 mm | Height (ouside) | 535 mm | 882 mm |

The fuel storage volume should based on a 200 liter standard oil drum (shown in picture 1 below). The drum should to be cut into two pieces as indicated. The smaller part would be utilized as gas tight sealed lid (using a water seal). The larger part was to be further modified as (shown in pictures 2 and 3 below).

The REEPRO team created a manual on construction of low cost small gasifier. This manual was the basis for the first training workshop at NUOL campus.
The training was held in a theoretical and a practical part. In practice trainees constructed a 5kW gasifier by using mostly local available materials such as mud, 200-litre oil drum, wood, rice husk, so that the construction costs are significantly reduced and there is a possibility for locally made gasifier.
